Spotlight Areas at IFAT Munich

In-depth insights: material flows in the cycle, innovation projects and the latest technologies. Our Spotlight Areas offer valuable and exciting insights into current topics such as battery recycling, plastics recycling, digitalization in water management, and hydrogen.

Battery recycling (BDE)

Best practice in real trending materials: battery recycling is becoming more and more important, especially due to the growing number of e-cars. This is just one of the reasons for the BDE, together with associations and companies as partners, to present this material flow at a Spotlight Area. Practical examples will show that recycling management is already successful with batteries and that all the hidden resources are far from being fully exhausted.

Variants of plastics recycling (VDMA)

As an initiator of the circular economy, mechanical and plant engineering provides technologies for the various possibilities of recycling plastics. Both mechanical and chemical recycling offer the opportunity to keep plastics in the cycle for longer and thus conserve resources. The Spotlight Area “Variations of plastics recycling” will highlight these technologies, demonstrate their potential and identify their limitations. Always with the goal in mind of keeping plastics in the cycle with the best possible, most resource-saving technology.
