Strong focus on recycling

It is at the same time a solution platform, a networking event and a knowledge hub, and brings together the most important international industry representatives from politics, business and science. As the largest international trade fair for the water, wastewater, recycling and municipal technology sectors, IFAT Munich offers innovative ideas and solutions for industries and municipalities—in eight halls and on a large outdoor area with many exhibits you can experience in action. This is what makes the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies more versatile and results-oriented than any other.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a global player or a medium-sized company, a large city or a small municipality. IFAT Munich places a clear focus on recycling and disposal for private-sector and municipal waste management companies—both in the exhibition and in the program. The aim is to identify solutions to close raw material cycles and further advance the circular economy.

Which strategy is effective? Which process is suitable for which need? Which vehicles and machines are particularly energy-efficient? At IFAT Munich, you’ll get answers and tailored solutions for every process across the various material flows—from smart collection using low-emission vehicles to new sorting and processing methods; from energy-efficient material handling equipment to AI-based software solutions, all the way to the new products and recyclable material, as well as the recovery of waste for energy generation through thermal processes or biogas production.

Consistent focus on applications

Ideas and visions are important. But ultimately, practicality is the deciding factor. That’s why IFAT Munich is a trade fair for getting up close and trying things out. Here, exhibits can be experienced live and in use within the framework of live demos and solution tours—which is highly interesting even for visitors from outside the industry! Discover our large outdoor area on the subject of waste, recycling and municipal technology, and see for yourself examples of best practices and machines in action to find out which processes are just right for you.

The program at IFAT Munich covers every important aspect of recycling. The Orange Stage will focus on circular economy and resource efficiency, material flow management, as well as logistics and mobility in municipal technology and waste management. The circular economy is also a topic at the Green Stage with its exciting cross-industry presentations and start-ups. The Spotlight Areas, meanwhile, will highlight the topics of mechanical and chemical processes for plastics recycling, battery recycling and hydrogen in the circular economy.
