German Society for Trenchless Technology e. V.
The GSTT (German Society for Trenchless Technology) promotes the ecologically and economically exemplary trenchless construction and maintenance of all types of underground pipelines. These include pipes for sewage, gas, district heating, fresh water, telecommunications, electricity, etc. The aim is to raise awareness and continuously promote this modern construction technology, which has been tried and tested worldwide for over 35 years, together with international partners for the benefit of the population and the environment.
The GSTT e.V. - “German Society for Trenchless Technology e.V.” was founded in 1989. The “German Society for Trenchless Construction and Maintenance of Pipelines e.V.” is an independent German association, but has an English name. This is due to the fact that the GSTT is a member of the internationally active umbrella organization “ISTT - International Society for Trenchless Technology.”
The ISTT has approximately 3,500 members in 55 countries, represented by 29 societies. Every year, the ISTT holds a congress with a trade exhibition in a different country/continent. This event is preceded by the annual board meeting, at which each national society has a vote and thus helps to shape the international activities of the ISTT.
Similar to the ISTT, the purpose of the GSTT is to promote and further develop science and technology for trenchless construction and maintenance of pipelines, and to communicate and advise on these topics. To this end, and for the benefit of the general public and the environment, the GSTT evaluates and disseminates scientific findings, research results, and practical experience, among other things. It supports developments, participates in training courses, or conducts them itself, and publishes papers.

The KUMAS congresses “Bavarian Waste and Landfill Days”, “Bavarian Immission Control Days” and “Bavarian Water Days” are known far beyond Bavaria and increase the environmental competence in the specialist circles. KUMAS' own environmental award "KUMAS Leitprojekte" (KUMAS Lead Projects) is presented annually to projects that are particularly suited to demonstrate environmental competence.
At IFAT, KUMAS will present the UMWELTNETZWERK (environmental network) to the international audience and is represented by network members at the KUMAS joint pavilion. Those who are interested in participating, please contact the head office.

In 2024, Saxony-based companies will again be presenting their products and services at a joint company pavilion. In the past years, the pavilion organized by the Saxon Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK) already impressed as an industry meeting point and platform for sharing experience and knowledge.
Visitors can find out about sustainable technologies and concepts for energy-efficient and resource-saving water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, and make contact with companies in the industry.
The environmental awareness of Saxony-based companies is also reflected in the “Umwelt und Klimaallianz Sachsen” (Saxony Environment and Climate Alliance) initiative, an approved alliance that goes back more than 20 years between the Free State of Saxony and the Saxon economy. The close collaboration provides impetus for new topic areas, methods and means.
